Could your “money personality” be sabotaging you?

Sacred Money Archetypes ® quiz

This is a guest post from Denise Duffield-Thomas.  The work she does in the world is life-changing, and she’d cooked up something special to complement the work she does in her Lucky Bitch Money BootCamp. The early feedback for this new adventure has already been incredible and I know you are going to love these insights.

Take it away Denise!

You know the feeling you get when you do “that thing” around money AGAIN?

Spend wildly on a new extravagance even though bills are due…

Hoard every penny even though you really want to splurge on a vacation…

Forgo a spa treatment because your daughter really wants that new pair of designer jeans…

Whatever you do with money, I bet you don’t just do it once. Most of us have habits with money — some of which serve us, and some which definitely do not.

So we do “that thing” again, and inside we feel unhappy. It’s not that we don’t want to treat ourselves, or save up money, or buy our loved ones special gifts.

It’s just that we feel like we’re making money decisions on autopilot. Like we’re not in control of the situation, and we’re not so sure we’re crazy about the results of our actions.

Well, what if I told you that you have a unique “money DNA” which is where those habits come from?

Even better, what if I told you that you could “crack the code” on your money DNA and start to leverage your money strengths, while compensating for your weaknesses — so you could stop repeating that same old money story and start living a new one?

You might wonder if it’s even possible to have a brand-new money story, especially if you feel like your habits are deeply ingrained.

If so, I hear you. I TOTALLY used to feel that way. I wasn’t born into any special privilege, and I didn’t have strong money models growing up.

Today, I run a multi-million dollar business that’s touched the lives of tens of thousands of women around the world. There was a time, though, when I felt like maybe, despite the fact that I had big dreams and was putting a ton of hard work into them, I wasn’t cut out for the success I dreamed of.

When I started my business several years ago, I used to run goal-setting workshops around town. I’d print the flyers at home (that I designed myself on Powerpoint no less) and tack them up on café notice boards.

One day, while driving to give one of my workshops, the felt ceiling of my car fell down around my head. I wasliterally driving to a workshop to inspire others to have more, be more, and do more… and the roof of my car was sagging down around my ears.

I realized in that moment that my money life needed a reset. I already knew how to manifest lots of things and experiences, but when it came to money, things just weren’t going the way I’d planned. I started to think maybe I didn’t have it in me to create a thriving business from my passion — that maybe it was never going to be my turn.

All of that changed, though, when I discovered Sacred Money Archetypes®.

For the first time in my life, I got a glimpse of what was possible for me if I would just work toward my strengths, instead of battling my weaknesses.

And for the first time, I got answers about why I’d put so many seeming obstacles to success in my own path. Turns out they weren’t actually obstacles, but rather preferences that, with a few simple tweaks could be capitalized on in a BIG way.

What are Sacred Money Archetypes®?

Well, remember I mentioned “money DNA” a minute ago?

Sacred Money Archetypes® is the work (created by Kendall Summerhawk) that will help you unlock your unique DNA around money, so you can use it to your advantage instead of letting it silently sabotage you.

(And yes, I’m speaking figuratively here — I know this isn’t “the” DNA that makes up living things! It’s just as important, though — especially if you want wealth and success in your future.)

Within your unique money personality is the seed of a healthy relationship to money — a code just like “the other” DNA — with all the potential to create any level of wealth, freedom, and fulfillment you can imagine.

This means you are designed to succeed. You just have to know how to move forward with the right knowledge about how to take care of yourself based on how you naturally show up with money.

I’m SO thankful I discovered this about myself with the Sacred Money Archetype® work — because as soon as I knew how to work with my innate “money DNA” my business really started taking off, and I found that my old self-sabotaging habits fell away.

The change for me was so profound that I became a certified coach in Kendall Summerhawk’s Sacred Money Archetypes® method and for years, I’ve been teaching it only on private retreats and with my one-to-one clients.

(Totally secret!)

Until now.

For the first time ever, I’m bringing the Sacred Money Archetypes® training to YOU.

Best of all, you can get started absolutely FREE.

>> Take My Free Lucky Money Quiz Now to discover your unique Sacred Money Archetypes®.

The Sacred Money Archetypes quiz and training series is a brand-NEW offering, and is the perfect complement to any entrepreneur’s journey.

Whether you’re just getting started or you’ve been building your business for years, the thing about your money personality is that it doesn’t change. Who you are at the start of your business is who you are 10 years in.

The key to breaking the habits that keep you from having ALL the success you really want, is understanding what makes you tick and knowing how to change it.

So, what about you? Are you still self-sabotaging around money?

Do you find yourself under-earning — or earning plenty but never knowing quite where it all went? Are you plagued with emotions like fear, guilt, or shame around money? Do you cringe when trying to decide how to spend it?

There are endless ways we sabotage ourselves with money, especially when it comes to growing our businesses. The truth is, though, YOUR way is simply related to your particular Archetype.

In fact, as part of the training, I’m revealing what MY primary Archetype is, as well as exactly how I’ve used this knowledge to work around my own imperfections (we’ve all got ‘em, gorgeous) and create a multi-million dollar business PLUS a relaxed lifestyle I love, with plenty of time for all the people and things that are most important to me.

You may be very interested to learn, for instance, that I have this ONE characteristic you’d probably never associate with being a successful, multi-millionaire entrepreneur!

(You’ll want to watch Video #2 in the series to see if you relate to this one.)

To get started, take the quiz and discover how your money personality may be sabotaging you, and exactly what to do about it.

You’ll discover SO much about yourself and your unconscious money beliefs just by taking the quiz — but remember, I’m not stopping there, because after you get your results, you’ll automatically be enrolled in a free video training program to help you apply what you’ve learned straight away.

I know from experience how powerful it is to understand your unique ‘money DNA’ and leverage it in your life and business, so you can stop sabotaging yourself when it comes to money.

Honestly, it’s like pressing ‘reset’ on your money story! When you know what’s been holding you back, you can pave a brand-new path to a brighter future with the financial freedom and impact you really want (not to mention being able to manifest everything on your dream board).

I’m sooo thrilled to offer the Sacred Money Archetypes® training to you. I know it will be life-changing for you, and I can’t wait to see you “on the inside.”

It’s your time, and you’re ready for the next step.

The world needs love

Love, one pipecleaner heart at a time

The concept that “Belief in something doesn’t make that true” throws itself into sharp contrast for me this week. I held the belief that America would not elect a Klan-backed, lying, misogynistic, sex-offending bigot as president.

Civilisation very much feels like it’s turning itself inside out right now. I could take the focus that the world is going to hell in a hand basket, mutter to myself about it all being wrong and simply let it wash over me, but instead I choose to see this as the world having a healing crisis, where symptoms, such as bigotry, hatred, ignorance and even war get worse before healing ultimately happens. Taking this focus and meaning to the events means that I can take action. It means that I, and all the other people in the world that espouse love, equality and kindness are the cure.

I do not doubt that the vast majority of Americans are kind, they are known world over for their hospitality and generosity, so I’ve been reading frantically about why America might choose to elect Donald Trump, seeking understanding beyond the “news bubble” that I live in (mostly populated by “WTF?” type posts, but no real reasons) and come to understand that change and growth is something that deeply strikes against the belief system of the people that voted for Trump, and that the slogan “Make America Great Again” to them means harking back to a time where their known status (religion, skin colour, jobs, homes, family structures) in the world was certain. It means retaining a Status Quo that about half of the world is moving away from, dragging the other half (in some cases very) unwillingly behind it. And also, as the movement is due to various ideas working in opposing directions, it’s no wonder the world is so confused right now!

However, if you are here, you probably shared my now disproven belief, and are quite possibly feeling defeated. Right now, you might not have the strength for yet another fight, and that’s OK. Self Care is important. Do the self care that you need to get you ready to give the world the love it needs. Retreat, eat good food, watch Netflix, go for walks in the local park, love the people and pets around you and just be for a bit. The world will be here when you are ready to pick up again.

However, if you stay in your cave too long, this can be as detrimental as working from no resources, so, if you do find yourself feeling overwhelmed, as you know, I love using EFT as a pattern interrupter. I’ve used it successfully with clients to help them get to the roots of their issues as well as to enable their progress when they are stuck.

So when Brad Yates’ newsletter dropped this video into my inbox I felt that I needed to share his words and the accompanying video with you:
“I actually shot this video a few weeks ago – it wasn’t about the election, but about this feeling that many of us experience from time to time.  But it takes on a new timeliness now, as a lot of people are feeling this these days… totally understandable.  A large group of folks were going to feel this whichever way the election went.  Honor your feelings, and when you are ready to stand up, brush yourself off and get going again, I hope you will find this helpful.  We need you… :)”

NB: As I said before, if you have never viewed Brad’s Channel before, before you start tapping away, you must watch these two videos first – as Brad is very clear that you know what you are doing, and that you take full responsibility for your own well being.

There are of course other pattern interrupters and ways to enable progress, but this one is one of my favourite as it is so simple, and once you know how, you can do it autonomously either “free-form” or via one of the many many scripts on Youtube (in fact, some of the best results are when the words simply “fall out of your brain” rather than with scripts) and it gets fast results.

So, tell me how you are going to spread a little (or a lot of!) love to the world. Start small, create ripples! Leave me a comment below and then we can start working to connect your dots!

Catch you next time!

How I transformed my money mindset

If you’ve been following my ‘blogs, you will know that one of the deep-dive pieces of work I’ve been doing in the last year or so is specifically around my money-mindset. Society messages such as “money doesn’t grow on trees” and “a day’s work for a day’s pay”  and society’s general “lack mentality” – “there’s never enough to go around” had me solidly blocked. I spent a great deal of my twenties spending money I didn’t have and then living way below my potential because all of my disposable (and some of my essential) income was being used to service debt.

I definitely had self-sabotage going on in my past and women especially are taught to “make do” with lower levels of resources, for themselves more than anything else. Some women even feel like they are “cheating” if money starts to flow “too easily”. And because life is always flowing on, you might not even be aware that you’re blocked and sabotaging yourself, you might think that this is just the way it is and that’s pretty much that.

It wasn’t really until my late thirties that I got a proper handle on what was going on with my money and the fact that I seemingly spent it like water and never had enough of it. No savings, massive overdraft, 4 credit cards with high interest and maxed out balances… Due to other mindset work I was doing, I started to also see that some of my money issues were based around resistance. About the need to stay the same and “safe” – when in reality, I very much wasn’t.

But, whilst I finally knew what resistance was, and learned to recognise it in my life, in terms of money, I didn’t really know how to deal with it at all. I found that I my life so far had not at all prepared me for the to work to remove the blocks and sabotages that I’d been gifted by a bad money mindset education.

I found Denise Duffield-Thomas and her amazing money mindset course, Lucky Bitch Money Bootcamp in early 2014, via my marketing mentor, Marie Forleo, and I don’t regret signing up at all. Me and my knickers are much happier and wealthier as a result of Denise’s work in the world.

The Money Bootcamp is a six week course and vibrant community of over 3,000 women that identifies and helps you release your money blocks. Denise’s popular course has been helping people since 2012 to upgrade their mindset.

So, why have I been talking about Denise non-stop and sharing the Bootcamp link with you now? Because Denise is running a live version of the course for the first time in three years. That means live group Q&A calls, quizzes, checklists and the momentum of 3,000 women working together.

I’ll state for the record right now that I still haven’t completed the bootcamp work, but the parts I have done have shifted so much for me already – as there really are crucial mindset shifts that need to happen so you can gracefully receive abundance in your life. It also helps in all areas in life where a change needs to be made, as the principles are easily molded towards other goals and targets where you know you feel resistance.

The Investment for the course and all the add-ons that come with is usually USD $1997, but for the next 15 days, until 27th October 2016, the course is only $1497 – a $500 saving for so much more value!

I really highly recommend Denise’s course as one of the best money mindset resources out there. She is known for being very down to earth, honest, practical and humorous with how she spreads her message to the world. With this live round, it really is a brilliant time to join her Bootcamp, and I for one am very excited to be working through the exercises with Denise leading them! I know it’s going to be simply amazing. I’m very much looking forward to the leaps that I know are coming.

This course has helped women generate millions of dollars and changed lives all over the world. Are you going to join us? Take action, go sign up for Lucky Bitch Money Bootcamp, come back and leave me a comment below, and we can start working on connecting those dots.

Catch you next time!

P.S. As you know, I am proud affiliate of Denise’s work. If you purchase a Lucky Bee product or course I may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.

Why writing a goal list rather than typing it out has way more power.

my handwriting - Pen on notebook

I know that I always learn something way better when I write about it. Recently, I both changed job roles (with a promotion!) and moved fields slightly.  I moved from being an Information Security Technician into the SharePoint Architect role. As I sat with with the outgoing Architect, I sat there and scribbled notes and doodles as we chatted.

Now, my hand writing is legendarily awful, as you can see! (Yes, that really is my hand writing.) Even I have issues reading what I wrote later on, so, why would I choose to had write the handover notes when I could have used my laptop to type into OneNote to organise the same thoughts.

The reasons are two fold. Firstly, when you put pen to paper to write words around conversations, take lecture notes or form ideas, it forms far better memory pathways in the Neocortex, especially when you are summarising, as you are actively thinking about and analysing what you are writing about as you are writing it. This in turn activates neurons and forms complex memory chains, a real boost to learning. It also leads to far better understanding of the subject at hand.

Secondly, writing is also an act of creativity, to which the Limbic brain responds and acts upon, giving you emotions about what you are writing and creating life feedback from the feels created that motivates action. If you are keen to learn, or eager to visualise your goals as you write, your limbic brain will feed back this happiness, this sense of anticipation into your everyday life.

Conversely, typing is all about mechanical skills, and so drawn entirely from the Neocortex. And typed information, although generally more verbose (most of us can type faster than we write) is generally is less understood by the note taker; it gets rationalised, contextualised, and is then “filed away for future reference” by the Neocortex.

The brain is basically parking the information for future recall, but with no real understanding of this information typed. This is because the Neocortex is not at all in charge of acting/reacting to stimulus (yep, that’s the job of the Limbic brain) and so the information sluices through your brain without making a real impact or forming  the more complex memory chains you get from writing.

The upshot of all this?  The combination of Neocortex and Limbic brain working together to give both context/understanding and emotion means that the goal list you type is far less likely to actually happen than the goal list you write.

Have you a list of goals that are just all in your head? Do your goals never seem to happen? Take action now, grab a pen and a piece of paper and write down that goal list! Leave me a comment to tell me about it and we can start working toward connecting those dots.

Catch you next week!
